Notes for Charles Davies
In 1900 he was the proprietor of Charles Davis and sons, builders2475. This building and carpentry business “Davis and Sons” was started with his sons, Charles, Albert and John in ca June 1897. His son Charles left the business sometime before it became bankrupt in January 1900. The newspaper report states that they had no capital, did not keep any accounts and were trying to build three houses in Fairfield. Charles Davies senior was described as having been ill for most of the two and a half years since the business was founded2484,358.
