At age 2 Loraine was bridesmaid at the wedding of Ernest Lammas and Kathleen Taylor in July 1940. Two weeks earlier at the wedding of Ernest’s brother, George Lammas, she decided that as she going to be a bridesmaid at Ernest’s wedding she should be bridesmaid at this one too. Kathleen Taylor said “I could always remember George's. They got married two weeks before us and Loraine was bridesmaid to me and we were sat in the church at George's and all of a sudden she slipped off her seat, she was sat with me and Olive, she said "I'm bridesmaid and I'm off".215
